MacBeth is a known
tale, even though I've never read it, which instead of degrading the
film through pre-existing knowledge, actually surprisingly enhances it.
It's dark, gory and pretty artsy as well, which adds to this excellent
adaptation of a Shakespeare classic. If there was one thing negative to
point out it is that the middle act does take sometime to get over and a
few scenes which feature are pretty unnecessary. But with that said,
the beginning and end are truly amazing and heart racing.
Whilst
adapting Shakespeare novels now seems overdone and clichéd l, this is
an essential retelling that will go down as a classic. There is not too
much to fault with this version and that's what makes it truly
remarkable.
